How Unique Wedding Details Will Save You Money and Make For a Great Guest Experience
When planning a wedding most couples are looking to get the most bang for their buck but don’t always know how to do this. It is even harder when you’re trying to follow traditional wedding etiquette as these traditions will always have the highest “wedding tax” added on. One of the biggest rules we always share with our brides is to think outside of the box! Creative wedding details can help make a big impact with minimal investment. By choosing to invest in a few key unique wedding details your money will go further in the long run. Not to mention unique details always add a wow factor that guest are sure to be talking about. After finding the Record Player sign-in from our wedding tax research we were inspired to put together 5 unique wedding guest book ideas.
When it comes to guest sign-in how many times have you heard a couple say they fondly read their book. Better yet have you ever heard a guest rave about their sign-in message? Chances are it’s not very often, so we really wanted to share some of the more creative ideas to ensure guest and couples make the most of the “sign-in”.
1.) Anniversary Piñata
I have never seen this idea before but I absolutely love it! Guest write fun, loving message to the couple drop it in the piñata and on their 1 year anniversary they get to break the piñata and read all the messages. Guest will have fun coming up with something to write guaranteed. Plus this is such a fun way to celebrate your anniversary and reminisce on your wedding. We also highly suggest some Margaritas before breaking it open!
2.) Corn Hole Boards
We recently had a couple share that corn hole was “their game” for any holiday, party, family event, you could find them playing corn hole. So what would be a more perfect sign-in than a custom corn hole board? We love the idea of using something that can have purpose even after the wedding is over. Our only disclaimer, this is not a money saving idea compared to a normal guest book. But, if this is something you would want to purchase at a later point it can be a great idea to have some fun and get use out of your guest book alternative.
3.) Advice Jar
Such a cute idea and so many ways to do it. While an all encompassing advice jar is sweet and simple. We do like the message in a bottle idea as well. These are split by years, so guest can decide what year mark they want to leave advice for. Then for the next 5 or so years, the couple has a new bottle to break open on their anniversary and read!
4.) Jenga
This is definitely not a ground breaking idea but still one we love. Again the idea is to have something that will create a fun experience later on or something that can be used frequently. Jenga is a super simple cute idea for fun little messages from your guest that you can use for years to come. It can also be fun for your guest to play at holidays or parties and see what they and others wrote.
5.) Guide The Way – Guest Book Writing Prompts
This is a more traditional style guest book but we really like the idea of prompting the guest to write something engaging. So often with guest books you end up with the same congratulations and well wishes over and over again. This ensures the entires will have a little more thought and maybe even tell a good story. If you’re set on the guest book this is definitely the way to go.
There are so many creative ideas out there and we just scratched the surface with 5 unique wedding guest book ideas. The main point is that sometimes following wedding traditions doesn’t make for a great guest experience or remembrance of your wedding. Instead get creative, think about what you personally would enjoy, and jump out there with something new!
